Play-by-play was my first passion in sports media. I love calling games, and am always looking to improve that craft and do more work in the booth. Below are some samples of my play-by-play in various sports.

Sports Talk Radio

As part of my duties as Sports Director at KATE Radio, I host an hour-long sports talk show every weekday. These shows include talk on Minnesota sports from the high school to professional levels, as well as national sports talk. Below, I’ve included a five-minute section of the show on the Minnesota Twins from the 2019 season, as well as a few of my favorite rants from a segment I always end the show with, which I call “Wait a Minute”, when I go off on any subject I deem fit.

Sports Talk: The Minnesota Twins are really good, but not ready to win yet

Wait a Minute: The Pelicans can’t blame anyone but themselves

I interview a lot of people when covering sports in Minnesota for KATE. From players and coaches of local high school teams to professional reporters and analysts, a lot of people make it onto my show. Below are some of the recent interviews I’ve done at the station.

Charlotte Hornets Play-by-play broadcaster and former KATE Sports Director John Focke joins the show to talk Timberwolves-Hornets and his first season away from Minnesota as an NBA broadcaster.
